How we started
Located in Les Gunyoles (Avinyonet del Penedès), at the gates of the Massís del Garraf Natural Park; where since the 17th century, it is documented that the Cuscó family began to cultivate these lands.
In 2005, Ramon Jané and Mercè Cuscó built the Mas Candí winery. He studied viticulture and oenology, doing internships in Bourgogne and Champagne. From a young age he worked in his family’s vineyards at Mas Rossell (an estate of 30 hectares).
Passion
For this reason, he has a great respect for nature and takes the utmost care to preserve the vineyards that his grandparents planted, as well as recovering ancestral varieties that had been cultivated in the area and that were now forgotten.
From the beginning, they opted for the Xarel·lo and Sumoll varieties, indigenous to the area and very well adapted to the current climate.
Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, they work with minimal intervention to respect the grapes and the wine as much as possible.
Currently
All the vineyards and the winery are certified organic (by CCPAE).
The Mas Candí winery cultivates 20 hectares (vineyards in Avinyonet del Penedès and Guardiola de Font-Rubí).

MAS CANDÍ
Ramon Jané
Born in Guardiola de Font-Rubí in a family of generations of winegrowers, in the Penedès area. At Mas Rossell (his birthplace); his family cultivates about 30 hectares of vines.
He studied Viticulture, Oenology and Marketing at Camp Joliu, in the Baix Penedès. There he met Toni Carbó, with whom he shared his passion for the world of wine.
During those years, he did internships in Bourgogne and Champagne. He was greatly influenced by the Bourgogne model, which he is most identified with and which he has been inspired by in recent years.
In 2005, together with his wife, Mercè Cuscó, they built the cellar and in 2006 the first vintage of wine came out. Celler Mas Candí is the fruit of a dream come true. From a young age he worked in his parents’ vineyards and his wish was that one day he could see the wine bottled from the vineyards that, generations after generations, his families have worked.
The winery is located in Les Gunyoles d’Avinyonet, right at the … [read more].
